Implementation of the CEAS – A European Comparison

We would like to highlight an initiative that may be of particular interest to Refugee Law Clinics and Migrants’ Rights Clinics.

The Common European Asylum System (CEAS) entered into application, bringing significant changes to the legal framework governing asylum across Europe. EU+ states are now beginning to implement these new rules. Against this background, the lecture series “Implementation of the CEAS – A European Comparison” may be of particular interest.

The lecture series is jointly organised by Equal Rights Beyond Borders, the Research Training Group “Mobility Rights in the Global Context of Multiple Crises” at the University of Göttingen, the Chair of Law and Migration at Humboldt University of Berlin, the German Umbrella Organisation of Student Legal Clinics (DSR) and the Refugee Law Clinic Berlin.

In eight sessions, speakers from two European countries will discuss selected topics relating to the CEAS. The aim of the series is to understand the new rules from a comparative European perspective, identify cross-country connections, compare implementation practices, share experience and know-how, and discuss potential good practices from a practical perspective.
